VISUAL ARTIST (Cuba - New York)
Naivy Pérez (b.1986, Cuba) multidisciplinary artist and designer currently based in New York City. Her work is the result of shared experiences, through artistic and experiential processes, at the limits of control structures that, for thousands of years, have conditioned the individual consciousness. Pérez’s proposal finds its parallels in time, social discourse, gender discourse, religion, politics and the economy; themes that the artist symbolically redefines through drawing, painting, sculpture, object, photography, installation, performance, intervention, environment, video art and net art.
Perez Graduated in Higher Institute of Art (ISA), with Gold Diplomat, Faculty of Visual Arts in 2010, and studied in the department of new media and technology in Kungliga Konsthogs Kolan (Royal University College of Fine Art), Stockholm in 2009-2010. Her works have been included in public and private collections; Naivy’s has participated in solo and group exhibition in Cuba, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Chile, Ecuador and United States (Miami, New York, Boston, California and Chicago) Her works have been included in the 10ma and 11na Havana Biennial and Latin American Art Triennial New York in 2019. She has also received various awards, mentions and scholarships, such Creative Capital Taller in New York in 2019-2020.
