ACTOR / THEATER / WRITER (Puerto Rico - New York)

Jorge Luis Berríos is an actor, theater, writer and teacher from Puerto Rico.  He has been a New York resident since 2008. He has a BA in Theater Education from the University of Puerto Rico with a minor in movement.  He works as a Theater Teacher with the Big Green Theater as well as an actor, director and writer for different arts organizations.  He is an actor in En El Ojo de la Aguja with the Tabula RaSa theater company and is working on various artistic projects using poetry as a starting point.  His work begins in Puerto Rico as an actor, director and assistant director mainly in theater.  After moving to the United States, his artistic career has grown and he has done theater in multiple cities in and outside of New York and the United States such as Busan in South Korea and Bogotá in Colombia.  He has begun to produce, write and share his work as a writer to a greater extent, especially poetry.  An important part of his goals and his growth as an artist is to share his work, drawing inspiration from other artists, inspiring other artists, and contributing to the community.
