VISUAL ARTIST (Mexico - New York)

Carlos David is a visual artist focusing on diversity and inclusion. Through multimedia portraiture, he explores the complicated relationship between the way we see ourselves and the objective reality captured by the camera and the observer. The focus of his work is to create a diverse community drawn together by the collective action of revealing their fantasies and dreams. He works on fine art and commercial multimedia projects.

David’s work has been exhibited in galleries around New York City, including Franklin D Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park, El Barrio’s Artspace PS109, Ozaneaux Artspace Instituto Cervantes, and MNN el Barrio’s Firehouse. And internationally in Mexico, Slovenia, and Croatia.

David is a Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) Creative Engagement grantee (2019) and Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ) Arts Engagement grantee (2019). And a Creative Capital Taller (2018) alumni. His project Persona II has been shortlisted for Aesthetica Art Prize 202, on exhibition at York Art Gallery in the United Kingdom in 2021.
