VISUAL ARTIST (Peru - New York)

Ana De Orbegoso is an interdisciplinary visual artist born in Peru. Lives and works in New York. 

Recognized for her social and community work, in her artistic practice she explores aspects of gender and identity through the use of historical and popular iconography, capturing them in videos, photographs, projections, street art, workshops, installations and multimedia productions, inciting the viewer to participation. 

De Orbegoso has exhibited in galleries and museums in the USA and internationally, including the Art Institute of Chicago; National Museum of Women in the Arts, D.C.; Instituto Cervantes, NY; UC Davis, Gorman Museum, Ca; Bendheim Gallery, Greenwich Arts Council, Conn.; Hunderton Art Museum, NJ; MALI Museum of Art of Lima; U. San Marcos Art Museum, Lima; Inka Museum, Cusco, Peru; Pedro de Osma Museum, Lima; Photosetiembre Latinoamericano, Mex. 

She has received various awards and residencies, including the NYFA New York Foundation for the Arts in Photography; NALAC National Association of Latino Arts & Culture; En Foco New Works Award and the Creative Capital NYC Latinx Workshop.
